About Filipino American National Historical Society Delano Chapter

The Delano chapter was formed June 2015 and is the 32nd chapter of the Filipino American National Historical Society. The chapter is centered on the city where the historic grape strike of 1965 was begun by Filipino workers and labor leaders, although it serves other communities in the southern San Joaquin Valley. FANHS's mission is to preserve, document, archive, present and promote the history of Filipino Americans in the local area. FANHS was founded in 1982 in Seattle WA by the late Dr. Fred Cordova and his wife, Dr. Dorothy Cordova. FANHS Chapters number 33 and are located throughout the United States.
