The Filipino - American Physicians of Washington ( FAPWA) was founded in 1992 by a group of medical doctors in the Puget Sound for the purpose of fostering camaraderie, upholding the highest standard of professional conduct, enhancing academic excellence and rendering voluntary charitable service locally and abroad. This, to elevate the Filipino doctor as a leader in the community it serves.
FAPWA has consistently participated in various projects both in the USA and in the Philippines spearheaded by its rich history of capable leadership . For more than two decades , FAPWA’s “adopt a community” concept serving the indigent Aetas in Burog has become a model for other US based medical groups . FAPWA’s tradition lives on and is dotted with memorable milestones as its past presidents worked on a platform during their tenure of office to foster FAPWA’s mission of service.
