Fil-Am Newport, a 501C3 nonprofit, was formally established on December 30, 1991 as a Rhode Island non-profit corporation for the purposes of: “placing principles before personalities; establishing volunteer programs to aid the sick, disabled, old and the needy here and in the Philippines as well as other countries; assisting deserving children who seek post secondary education; increase understanding of and share the Philippine culture with the community; assisting military, students and other visitors; conducting educational programs and charitable activities; and achieving the highest standard of morality and camaraderie."
