GABRIELA Los Angeles is a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing women's rights and welfare through comprehensive education, organizing, campaigns, and cultural work. Serving the Los Angeles, CA community, GABRIELA addresses critical issues affecting Filipina women including gender discrimination, violence against women, reproductive health rights, and economic justice. The organization operates as part of GABRIELA USA, the first overseas chapter of a Philippines-based alliance encompassing more than 200 women's organizations, institutions, and programs worldwide. GABRIELA's multifaceted approach combines direct action with community engagement, recognizing that the challenges facing Filipina women in Los Angeles are intrinsically connected to systemic issues in the Philippines. Through collective action and strategic campaigns, the organization mobilizes Filipino women to fight for their fundamental rights and welfare. Founded on the legacy of Gabriela Silang, the first Filipino woman to lead a revolt against Spanish colonization, GABRIELA Los Angeles carries forward this tradition of resistance and liberation.
