About Northern Colorado Filipino-American Association
Northern Colorado Filipino-American Association is dedicated to combining understanding and appreciation of the great cultures through history, arts and communication.
The Association was founded in 1975 by Mauro Corral who was a long time resident of Fort Collins. It started as a small group and has continue to grow through the years. Most members of the group are Filipino-American and their families that resides in three cities of Northern Colorado, that include Greeley, Loveland and Fort Collins. The group welcomes new members to join in and be part of this cultural and fun- spirited group of people.
There are two major gatherings that the group showcase the cultural awareness and the social aspect of bringing the families closer as one community which include summer picnic and Christmas gathering. It is a fun way of knowing each other, building friendship and to allow the children to understand the culture and history of the Filipinos.
Our Mission:
To enhance unity among Filipino-American and their families as well as non-members by introducing Filipino culture through history, arts and communication and to share the Filipino values and heritage of our past.
To preserve and nurture the core Filipino values and cultures and to embrace intercultural behavior and traditions to become a well-balanced citizen in our society.
To encourage Filipino-American children to participate in major activities that allow them to have fun and appreciate the cultural heritage of the Filipinos.
