About Perris Valley Filipino-American Association, Inc.
In July 1997, The Perris Valley Filipino-American Association, Inc. or PVFAA started with a small group of Filipino-American families in the City of Perris, California whose main purpose then was to establish camaraderie and kinship among its members.
In April of 2008, PVFAA was officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a tax-exempt non-profit public charity organization. Its membership and support have now expanded to include all of the Inland Empire area, even reaching as far as Los Angeles and San Diego.
With the due diligence and leadership of its members, PVFAA is recognized by the community as one of the established and respected organizations within the Inland Empire.
PVFAA was founded by its two-time chairman, Mr. Eddie Init & co-founded by Mr. Billy Culpa.
With its growth, the organization's vision and mission further evolved. PVFAA is committed to the wellness of the Filipino Americans in the Inland Empire and its neighboring counties by means of promoting, preserving and fostering the rich Filipino culture and heritage to the diverse residents in our community.
It is the association's goal to engage and develop the Filipino-American youth by their involvement in various civic and community service activities primarily to develop their leadership potential and skills and values formation.
The association provides an environment of family and friendship that exhibits hospitality and the bayanihan spirit or the virtue of helping one another. It is committed to promoting stronger community ties and partnerships with community organizations, churches, and local government units to uplift the lives and socio-cultural conditions of the less fortunate residents in our communities.
Ultimately, PVFAA will liaise with other Asian-American groups and will serve as a conduit of all the private and governmental resources in the community aimed at fostering the general well-being of the Asian-American population.
